David Ernsthausen 1963-2024Beverly Rignall Hyatt 1940-2024May 17, 1940 – March 9, 2024
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the recent passing of SENC’s co-founder, Beverly Hyatt. On October 15, 1977 Beverly and Jack Hyatt and Ronnie and Jim Farkas started SENC. Those who had the privilege of meeting, knowing, and working with Beverly Hyatt describe her as a lady with a kind and gentle heart, She was soft-spoken, friendly, and gracious to all she met. And she was passionate about Newfoundlands and worked hard for them and the causes that benefited them! Dana shared her memory of Beverly and Jack sharing stories of life in their house with each of their Newfoundlands being indoors with them as members of their family. She also remembers Beverly jokingly saying that, when they cracked eggs at their house, the eggs had Newfoundland hair in them! When I joined SENC back in 1984, there were three (3) Beverly’s – Beverly Eichel, Beverly Hyatt and myself. I had never been around any Beverly’s much less three (3); sadly, both Beverly Eichel and Beverly Hyatt have since passed away. Beverly is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Jack Hyatt, their son and three daughters, and their four granddaughters. I ask that we all keep Dr. Jack Hyatt, their son and daughters, and their granddaughters in our thoughts and prayers. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6th. at 2PM at the Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hickory, N.C. On behalf of SENC, I will take care of sending flowers to the Celebration of Life service. -Beveraly Cusac We are the SENCTega Cay Teen Handles “Gentle Giants” With Ease
In many ways, Madison (Maddie) Carolan is your typical 15 year old girl. A student at Fort Mill High School, she’s well spoken, kind and will gladly tell you about her friends when asked. In short order, the conversation will pivot to her passion for dogs. This is where the separation from other teenagers starts to go in a different direction.
